The town of Fondi is charming and claims to be older than Rome, you are immediately plunged into "old Italy ", but with all the mod cons that you are used to.
The main square is bustling with people chatting in all the coffee shops and bars, while there are lots of shows and exhibitions that are on in the evening that are organized by the local council, during the summer months, you can enjoy all the pleasures of the local resort Sperlonga,which is 15 minutes away by car .
The surrounding hills have such delights to visit, Campo di Mele, Itri, Lenola, all beautiful hilltop towns, and if you follow the coast road, you can visit Terracina, Gaeta, Sperlonga, and visit Cassino, which is about one hour away from Fondi,
The house is a very typical "Fondi house" with a room on every floor ,a lot of the typical,charming features have been maintained , original flooring and wooden beams throughout the house, on the entrance level, there is a well equipped little kitchen, and a bathroom with a generous shower,, the middle section has an entertainment section with large ceiling fan and two sofa's than can be transformed in to beds, for unexpected overnight guests! and the upper floor has a double bed and a little mattress , ideal for very young children .

This little house is extremely central, just around the corner from the main castle square.
The little house is situated on three floors. The bathroom and kitchen are on the ground floor, the middle section has the television couch area with a large ceiling fan and there is a double bedroom with low ceilings on the top floor, it is rather a bohemian little house and is not ideal for everyone because it has a lot of stairs, However it is very central and very characteristic typical of italian lifestyle. To get to the beautiful beaches there are buses that run every hour to Sperlonga, Fondi is a charming town and it has a beautiful square with a castle very near to your house which is great for bars and watching all the people,

When planning our trip to Italy,we set some criterias : confortable accomodations....living in an area where local residents exceed the tourist population....quick access to bus & train transportation.....close to beach areas ....
Once we arrived at the little house in Fondi,we realized we struck ``gold``... The house was very confortable and functional,situated in a Historic Centre and surrounded by local residents.
The beautiful Piazza with its many activities , the little mercatino open for business every morning and the friendliness of the local residents made our 45 day stay in Fondi most memorable.
Train and Bus transportation was excellent and the Beaches ( Lido di Fondi & Sperlonga ) were terrific....
We recommend thiis property to those seeking confort ,adventure and experiencing the true Italian life.....

There are cafes, restaurantes and amenities. In May, June and September Fondi is blessed with good weather and an off-beat international atmosphere. July and August are peak Italian summer vacation months. The atmosphere in Fall, Winter and Spring is quiet and private, but visitors find personal reasons to prefer one period over another. Our family has spent many happy weeks during all seasons here. If you want to relax, write, take in mediterranean views and fresh evening breezes, this home and town will be a wonderful surprise. Pompei and Capri are also near.
